James Knight discovered that even though we might appear to speak the same language that there are in fact 4 separate and distinct dialects each looking at and filtering the world through different eyes and ears.

Each of us speaks 1 dialect naturally, and that if we rely on just this one dialect that it means that we are unable to communicate effectively with 75% of the people that we come in contact with daily including family members, friends, business associates and clients.

James created a new way of communicating called iMA to help change peoples lives for the better.

iMA begins by identifying how a person wants to receive information, and then teaches you to modify and adapt the message in a way that is most likely to be understood.

By communicating on the other persons wavelength, and speaking in a way that the other person finds it easiest to listen to, communication, trust, and co-operation go up and stress and tension go down.

Even better news for us all is that James has agreed to be a guest NEXT TUESDAY 22nd May 2012 at noon Eastern Time. The event is FREE to attend just RSVP Here

Networking is more than just putting your business name out there for people to find you, but it is also a part of getting to know people, who are going to spread the word about what you do, what you sell, and that are going to support you in all that you do. Networking is going to involve getting to know as many people in life as you can, and putting your business in front of those people, so they will represent your name, your business, and will tell others about what you have to offer.

If your business requires that you travel often, or perhaps you travel often to find supplies, visit relatives or just because you like it. You should make it a point to get to know those who you are sitting beside, those who are surrounding you on the plane, even those who are sitting on the bench while waiting in the airport. Make it a point to meet and greet at least one new person a day.

How are you going to get started on this?

Start the conversation by saying hello, how are you today?

Ask questions. The best way to get to know someone is to ask questions. Without asking questions, it can be difficult to carry on a conversation. Asking questions is a good icebreaker, in turn, the person is going to want to talk about their self, and where they are traveling too. You can then lead into something like, is this business trip or a personal trip? As you go on with the conversation, the person is going to ask you questions, which is where you will be able to talk about your business and what you do. As you make it a point to get to know at least one new person a day- you are going to increase your network, which means you will increase the people that you know in life. Increasing your business network is going to be dependent on your abilities to carry on a conversation and to talk with others. Force yourself to do this. Force yourself to stick to your habit of meeting at least one new person a day. As you make this a point, you will make this a habit and in the long run, your business will thrive for it.
How many of you act as the CEO, the general manager, the accountant, the salesperson, the computer technician, the secretary, the receptionist, etc…? Sound familiar?

Many entrepreneurs try to chase too many targets at once and end up overwhelmed rather than focusing on their business. They spend all their energy carrying out daily tasks leaving little time for the most important part of their business – their own business!

To avoid this, spend some time focusing on your business and decide which strategies will be most helpful in developing your own marketing plan. In order to grow and succeed in your business, you first need to have a crystal clear idea of what you want to do and where you want to go. In other words, have you defined your objectives? And more importantly, have you put them in writing?

This was actually a new concept for me. In the French culture we are not used to doing this and when I tried to teach it to some of my French clients, they just thought I was nuts! But I understand why because it took me a while before I decided to give it a try. My thoughts were that I had always managed to get what I wanted without the need to write my objectives down. But since so many people here were already applying this concept to their business, I decided not to be stubborn and give it a go too.

Wow! Since I have been using this concept everything has moved so much faster!Writing my objectives on a weekly basis and being very specific in each area of my business has given me the opportunity to create strategic alliances with other entrepreneurs, triple my database, double my revenue last year and write a book. I am now also working on numbers of new projects with people who I could never have expected to meet or work with just a couple of years ago.

Now my big dreams are a reality!

I love the way people do business in the US. I don’t know if you realize it but you are very lucky. You have all the tools to succeed, but do you use them?
When you write your objectives on a weekly or monthly basis it makes you actually work on them and act faster. If you are not specific and just say, “I will have money, or I will have more clients,” then yes, these things will come, but the question is ‘when’? You don’t have any deadline to accomplish them by! But if you decide that by December 30th you will have 6 new clients, you will then do something in order to get those clients instead of praying or waiting to see if this will happen.

In my last networking coaching session, I asked my members, “What are your goals for the next 30 days?” Some answered without hesitation while others had to think about it. And somebody told me, “Thanks Biba for reminding me that I need to work on my goals, I had actually forgotten about it”.

I found that the best way of incorporating time for your objectives and marketing plan into your schedule is to set up an appointment with yourself. And whatever happens, even if there is a client emergency, never cancel this appointment with yourself.

Make a decision that once a month or once a week you will spend an hour or two working on your business, focusing on: strategies to get more clients, new products or services to offer, special campaigns to make more sales and writing articles to post on your newsletter, newspapers or ezine directories to promote your business. The more links you get, the more traffic you will receive on your website (by the way, do you have a website? If not this should be one of your objectives for the next 30 days). Do you have a newsletter? This is the easiest and cheapest way to communicate on a regular basis with your clients and prospects, in order to promote and grow your business. This can be another objective for the next 30 days.

Take the time to plan strategies that will help to grow your business. Consider yourself as your most important client. Do for yourself what you do for your clients. Your business needs all your attention, all your energy and all your dedication. Your future and your success depend on it.

Need to take action NOW – I’d like to invite you to have a 15-minute complimentary “Get Acquainted” session via phone or skype.

No matter where you are in your process I will help you get unstuck and get moving forward towards your goal. Take this opportunity to get a fresh opinion on what is holding you back. You are under no obligation or pressure, this is just a new and novel way for you to get back in the running.

It makes complete sense that entrepreneurship is so attractive to women right now. The traditional work model has never been a good fit for women, especially for those raising families, so for us, being able to custom-design a business that fits the lifestyle we want is the ultimate dream.

But, being an entrepreneur requires one KEY quality: the willingness to take risks. And this is where I see many promising entrepreneurs and new business owners struggle. Especially women.

You see, when I mentor a client, she always starts out saying she is finally ready to step up and build a wildly profitable business.

Then, we get to the place where she is required to “take a risk”. Opportunity x lands right in her lap. And what often happens is—while she finds x exciting—she gets uncomfortable and starts to shrink back. “I can’t spend that kind of money on x,” she says. Or, “I’m not ready for x yet.” Or “x is too big for little old me! Why don’t we start with y or z first?” Or, “x sound great, but let’s save it for next year.”

This is not unusual, because honestly we are not programmed to “go for it”.

When we are born, we first crawl, then walk. In school, we go to grade one, grade two, grade three, and so forth. In college, we become freshmen, sophomores, juniors then seniors. In the working world, we start out as assistants and then we move up to managerial roles.

The problem is, this “grade school” way of thinking stays with us for life. And when you also add in the fact that essentially at a DNA level women are wired for safety, you can see why this becomes a big hurdle.

If you are ready to step up into a bigger purpose and make a big change in your life, this type of ladder-type thinking will defeat you. It feels safer, but in the end, it will get you nowhere. At the most, you may make a step in the right direction, but most often you’ll end up back where you started.

Big gains come from leaping—not ladder climbing. This will take some adjustment to your thinking.

To help my clients start thinking in “leaps”, I recommend they read autobiographies and biographies of big-thinking entrepreneurs like my friend Sir Richard Branson, Oprah Winfrey, Madonna, and Bill Gates. One of my favorite stories is in Richard’s humorous autobiography, Losing My Virginity, in which he shares how he started Virgin Airlines. He sold seats on their first flight while still figuring out how they were going to get the plane. (Make your problems seem a bit more manageable?)

You’ll find that when these people came across big opportunities, they were in line with their mission, and they didn’t shy away. They jumped in all the way—even when the resources they needed to do so weren’t apparent yet.

Did you get that last part? They said YES even when they weren’t sure how they’d do it, where they’d get the money, or who could help them. And they found—sure enough as you will too—that when a big opportunity presents itself and you step up and say “yes”, and if you truly believe in your heart that this goal is yours, suddenly the universe seems to rearrange itself to help you.

And here’s the good news… You typically don’t have to go looking for these opportunities. They are usually right in front of you, or one will soon drop in your lap. Once you declare you are ready, your awareness is heightened, a shift occurs, something presents itself, and you will suddenly see the path to all that you and your business can be.

For example, I hear countless times from members who join my Elevate program that once they registered, suddenly the resources they needed to pay for their membership surfaced.

So, are you ready to be an entrepreneur? If your heart is right now is shouting, “Yes!” make note now of the opportunities that are right in front of you.

For example:

- Do you know of a big new client you could land if you really pursued them?
- Are you aware of an accomplished mentor whom you could hire, or whose training or coaching program you could join?
- Do you need to dramatically raise your rates?
- Do you want to create a new income stream to increase your cash flow?
- Are you aware of a powerful event you could attend that could help fast-forward your success?
- Is there an influential person whom you know if you connected with could change your trajectory of success?

Listen up… make the call, register for the spot, place the ad, invest in training, book the trip, list out potential income streams—whatever that step is—and make that big move. All your rewards are waiting… if you’re ready to make the leap!

If you’re like most people, before you lay down your hard-earned money on a product or service, you check it out first, whether by asking a friend, looking at the customer ratings online, or reading the testimonials. No one likes to buy a lemon, so it just makes sense. If you see enough testimonials from people you “know” it removes the risk factor, and you’re ready to dive in.

So how do you get great testimonials, especially when you’re just starting out? When I created my first ebook years ago, I gave out a few free copies in exchange for customer feedback. Their positive reviews became my first testimonials. You can do the same thing if you have a service business–give a few complimentary or discounted sessions in exchange for a glowing testimonial.

After you start selling your product or service, make it a routine to ask for comments to keep your reviews fresh. In addition to encouraging people to purchase what you’re offering, endorsements will always enhance your expert status.

Results-based Testimonials Are Best

The most meaningful testimonials are ones that are measurable. You see this every day on TV when someone says they dropped 50 pounds in 6 months. When asking for success stories of your customers, encourage that they be results-based in terms of:

increased dollars

increased sales

weight lost

happiness gained

time gained

etc.

Suggest they use phrases such as, “As a result of XYZ product or event, my business increased its sales by 50% in just 3 months.” This is specific, measurable in terms of sales dollars, and time. When you use the testimonial, pull out the most powerful sentence and use it as a headline with a larger font to make it stand out.

Make it Worthwhile for Your Customers

What’s in it for customers to write a review for you? Exposure. It’s free advertising to them to be mentioned on a sales page, ezine, or on your website, etc. We ask our clients to keep their testimonials to 100 words and to include their name, business name, location, and website address. (Hint: Include their web address in the testimonial, but don’t make it a live link so people aren’t wandering off your page.) Request a lifestyle image of people having fun enjoying life as opposed to a stodgy business suit shot if it’s appropriate. Be sure and let them know that you may edit their submission.

When to Ask for Testimonials

Timing is important to get the best testimonials. For starters, you want your customers to take stock of where they are before they start using your product or attending your event, so you may need to remind them. Consider adding a form to your info product asking them to jot down “where they are” in terms of number of people on their list, their sales, number of customers, etc. Then when you check in with them later, you can ask them to compare where they are now. This will reinforce their success and your role in helping them achieve results.

Ask for testimonials right after an event or a course when people are overflowing with excitement and enthusiasm. Touch base with them again in 3-to-6 months, after they’ve had a chance to implement your teachings. Depending on the product, you’ll need to judge how soon after receiving your product customers will be able to experience results. Have your team add a reminder to the calendar so you don’t forget to ask.

Keep the Testimonials Coming…

Your testimonials can be placed anywhere–on sales pages, in your ezine, blog, Facebook, product binders, etc, so it makes sense to keep them fresh and relevant. You’ll want to set up systems in your business that will bring in testimonials for all your new products, and create standard guidelines to make sure the look and feel is consistent, no matter where they’re used.
