This week I attended a webinar with Jim Edwards, marketing coach and author of 7 Day Ebook. During his webinar, he asked a survey question: “Do you have a list of people to whom you send email on a regular basis to promote your business and do you make money with your list?” The answers surprised me.
4% answered that they have a list and make money; 27% answered that they have a list but don’t use it effectively to maximize their profits;and 69% (this is what surprised me the most) didn’t have a list.
Ali Brown one of my coaches, always says “The Money is in Your List.”It is following her example that I started this newsletter in 2004 and continue to build my list. So what is your answer to Jim’s question?
If you signed-up for my newsletter it is because you are interested in networking and you probably attend networking events on a regular basis.
If that is the case where is your list? What do you do with all the business cards that you collect at those events? Do you just collect them and keep them in a shoe box? Do you add them to your address book or database, only to forget about them later?
Attending events and meeting people is one thing but if you never follow-up with them, why bother!
